BIO
Carlos is one of only a handful of tennis players to have reached three of the greatest heights in the sport, winning a Grand Slam singles title at Roland Garros in 1998, reaching the World Number One the following year, helping Spain to win a Davis Cup title in 2004.
The Spaniard first made an impact on the ATP World tour in 1995 after winning his first Tour title in Buenos Aires at the age of 19. He then embarked on a rapid rise up the rankings and less than two years later he found himself in the final of Australian Open. Carlos fulfilled another ambition by becoming World Number One after finishing runner-up at the Indian Wells Masters series event. After battling a foot injury for a number of years, Carlos officially anounced his retirement from professional tennis in 2010.
